Fragmented artwork dissects portraits providing a deeper look at identity

If you’ve ever felt like you are coming apart, Micaela Lattanzio’s project ‘Fragmenta’ is particularly pertinent. The Italian artist visualizes the fragmentation of identity is these new pieces of work. She has systematically cut up portraits into small abstract pieces, assembling them to create an interesting pattern. Pinning together the photographs in strips, circles and hexagons, each artwork no longer looks like the subject, but something altogether incomplete. They offer a unique perspective on our unconscious thoughts and physical identity, showing how things are rarely whole or perfect.
