Beautiful Noise uncovers the fantastical universe inspired by Japan and pop culture

Packing the punch with his medley of artworks that pay homage to pop culture, Tokyo-based artist Yosuke Ueno has just opened his fourth solo exhibition. Held at Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles, ‘Beautiful Noise’ shows off the artist’s vibrant universe, which is strongly inspired by Japanese spirits. There are Western influences such as Mickey Mouse and Charlie Brown too amidst the graffiti motifs, glitter and wide eyes of his models.

His artworks look as though they have stepped straight from the pages of a comic book or anime film, yet they still have a glossed and fantastical quality with intense detail and colour. The exhibition runs until the middle of June. For more information visit Ueno’s website.
