Introspective painting by Giulia Giacomelli

Giulia graduated from the academy of fine arts in florence, where she studied painting-drawing.

She was born on the 8th of July in 1989.

In 2008, after graduating from the Liceo Classico “Niccolò Forteguerri” of Pistoia, she decides to pursue her interest for art. So she enrolls at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in Painting course.

In the summer of 2009 she participates in the course of Pintura mural “La llum i el color”, held in Spain (Tarrega and Vall de Boi) by A. Podenzana (professor of Painting techniques at the Academy of Florence) and by the fresco painter Josep Minguell.

In the 2012, together with the study of painting, she deepens the study of photography and approaches the world of illustration at the Facultad de Bellas Artes in Valencia, where she studies with the Erasmus project. Here she participates in the exhibition of photography “Ecos Visuales”. 








After graduating she participates in some courses, including that held by the spanish illustrator Javier Zabala at the International School of Illustration in Sarmede.

She deepened the study of photography and approached the world of illustration at the academy of fine arts in valencia with the erasmus project. After graduating she also took part in some courses at the international school of illustration in sarmede.

Her paintings are self-portraits, born from a reflection on the integrity and the importance of being, beyond context and appearances. Female figure is camouflaged in different environments, but never entirely. Where her clothes ends the outside world ends. Where her skin begins her being begins.
