Abigail drapkin ‘s vintage portraiture is about natural exposed wood-grain and oil paint pay tribute to discarded black and white photographs from the early 20th Century. Nostalgic and haunting, this series offers a glimpse at forgotten moments of work and leisure, faces that recall snapshots in family photo albums. Abigail Drapkin is an oil painter based in San Francisco. Originally from Maine, she studied painting at Brandeis University in Boston and at Pont-Aven School of Contemporary Art in France. Abigail’s work has appeared in group shows and solo showcases. Her oil paintings explore narrative portraiture within candid, intimate settings. She currently teaches drawing and painting to children and adults.
